Nottingham Life
Nottingham has a contemporary feeling running through its streets as you would expect from such a cosmopolitan city. With its diversity of cultures, it's just a great place in which to live and to work.
Nottingham is the home of two large and popular universities in the form of Nottingham Trent University and the University Of Nottingham. The students help provide energy and enthusiasm to Nottingham.
The city combines the best of old and new. It’s vibrant yet friendly. It is an amazing place to be a student with everything here, on your doorstep or a train ride away. Trams and buses take you from one side of the City to the other, where as the trains take you direct to London.
It is as you would expect, vibrant with a great night life flowing through the many bars and restaurants. This naturally leads to a strong music culture and be in no doubt, whatever your taste in music, listen and you’ll find it in the smallest bar to the larger venues of Rock City or The Rescue Rooms. In addition, a first class concert hall brings the arts onto this grand stage, standing proud in the very heart of the City.
Early October brings Goose Fair, the country's largest five-day fair, believed to date back more that 1,000 years and is packed with hundreds of amusements, becoming at night a spectacular carpet of lights. Just a great experience.
Shoppers can have it all. Brands, malls and lanes of boutique shops through to traditional markets, offer a truly designer culture nestled with vintage buys and the very best in department stores.
Of course, being a student in Nottingham shouldn't keep you inside the city as there's a wealth of countryside, parks and places to be active and explore.
